Story
Hello Everyone!
We’re six of the ‘BA Endometriosis Champions’ - Tracey, Louise, Beckie, Sophie, Sarah and Abby and we are raising money for the charity ‘Endometriosis UK’.
We want to help the 1 in 10 women and those assigned female at birth who are affected by endometriosis. The six of us have endometriosis ourselves, so really understand the impact it can have.
We are passionate about raising awareness of how debilitating this non-curable condition can make our personal and working lives, with chronic pain that can suddenly leave you curled in a ball in agony with no warning.
We all know each other from British Airways and have worked with the company to gain its support. Specifically, we have managed to work together to make British Airways the FIRST AIRLINE to pledge their commitment to becoming an 'Endometriosis Friendly Employer’.
This scheme, run by ‘Endometriosis UK’, provides guidance to BA on how to support employees with endometriosis and menstrual health conditions. It focuses on improving leadership and management support, raising awareness, and changing the culture in the workplace around the condition, which we spearhead as Champions.
As part of the launch of this scheme in July we have each signed up to raise money for the charity. We will all 'Walk for Endo', completing at least 8000 steps every day for the month of July all over the world, including in the skies. The 8000 steps signify the average time it takes to be diagnosed - 8 YEARS of waiting!
We would love any support and donations you can give. Thank you for being part of our journey to help the 1 in 10 with endometriosis.
