Story
We are a team of intrepid swimmers who share the same aspiration of swimming the channel to France. Yes a little bit crazy, and we are under no illusion that it will be easy, but we all have great will power and determination!
At the moment the cold winter months of training in the open water are very much on our minds, but as next year progresses we are sure our thoughts will change to how we will cope with sea sickness on the day and coming, quiet literally, face to face with jelly fish during the swim.
We also have the challenge of raising £10,000 as a team for Aspire and to increase awareness of the great work that the charity do. So by you sponsoring us you are not only adding to our motivation to complete this event but you are hopefully learning about the wonderful work that Aspire undertake...
Spinal cord injuries can happen to anyone, at anytime and it changes a person's life forever. Aspire provides support for those who have recently suffered a spinal injury, including welfare benefits advice, temporary accessible housing and help with independent living, access to assistive technology and assistance with fund raising for essential specialist equipment. Their aim being to help individuals move from injury to independence.
Just £25 can buy special grip cups and glasses for someone with limited hand dexterity. £1000 will provide a rise and fall hob or sink so that a wheel chair user can access them and £3000 buys a made to measure lightweight wheelchair to give someone with a spinal cord injury the freedom of travelling without assistance.
So no matter how big or small, your donation will help so many people to regain their independence. So thank you from all of us for stopping by and donating to this great cause.
