The GNR is the largest half marathon in the world. Now over 30 years old it attracts over 50,000 participants.This year we are aiming to have at least 50 runners taking part to raise money specifically for Daft as a Brush. Come and join the team!

Story

Myself and Steven Johns both Managers in the Argos Washington Store are both running the Great North Run for this amazing local charity `Daft as a brush Cancer Patient Care`They transport cancer patients to and from hospital free of charge and even stay with the patients while in hospital for treatments.

Steven and I are trying to raise £700 between us to help keep the service going ,The local volunteers drivers really make a difference to peoples lives .I know the cost of living is a real struggle for us all , any donation from as little as £1 will help us and the charity to achieve our goals.

From city to sea, the Great North Run returns to its classic route for 2022! Almost 60,000 determined and dedicated runners make the Great North Run the Worlds biggest and best half marathon On 11th September 2022, can you run for your local charity, Daft as a Brush Cancer Patient Care?

About the charity

Daft as a Brush Cancer Patient Care, provides a free transport service to and from the Freeman/RVI Hospitals for outpatients undergoing chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy treatment – some from as far afield as the Scottish Borders, North Yorkshire and West Cumbria.
