Raising money for Avalon Parental Support and Respite Services

We We fund therapies for kids and respite to Support families impacted by autism

Story

APUC (Advanced Procurement for Universities & Colleges) employees, along with family and friends, are taking part in the Kilt Walk to fundraise for their chosen charity of the year. This year, they are supporting Avalon, a local charity based in Glasgow who support parents and families of autistic children.

What Avalon do - “We offer practical advice and guidance, wellbeing programmes and family connection days to improve social networks, reduce isolation and increase skills, confidence, overall wellbeing and connection.” – Avalon Charity Website

APUC hope to raise enough funds throughout the year to allow Avalon to host a Christmas party for families which caters to the different needs of the children, and, a peer support group providing practical and tested guidance to parents on specific issues they face.
