Story
2 years ago, I had 15 inches cut off off my hair and sent the hair off to a charity that will use it to make wigs for children that do not have hair for various reasons, such as leukaemia. It's something that I have done before and something that I will do again.
It's time to do it again. I'm not 'braving the shave', but rather just cutting it very short. I'm not scared to do it, because I know that unlike people undergoing chemo treatment, it is my choice to do this. And I know that it will grow back quicker than most. I am not precious about my hair, but I know that to not have a choice whether you have long hair or not must be heartbreaking.
I have created a fundraising page because although this event does not require me to train for anything, nor will I face any personal consequences for doing it, it is a perfect opportunity to raise vital funds for Macmillan.
If you are able to, please donate any sum of money that you can. I don't have a 'target', but rather am taking the view that all donations help towards the work that Macmillan do, and so if you are feeling generous, please contribute to my biennial efforts.
Thanks,
Megan
