Story
Hello!
We're Andy, Dave & Tom and we've registered to take part in Action Medical Research's charity bike ride.
We'll be attempting to ride from LONDON to PARIS next July. That's around 475 kilometres of hard work, but all for an incredible cause.
The Cause
Action Medical Research has been funding medical breakthroughs for 70 years. They have helped to beat polio, fight meningitis, prevent stillbirths and develop ultrasound scanning in pregnancy, helping to save thousands of children’s lives and change many more.
Today they continue to tackle the challenges disease and disability present by funding high quality research to save and change children’s lives and are driving forward research to help protect children in the fight against COVID-19.
The Challenge
Day one: An early start from Crystal Palace Park to Dover and the coast. We'll then take the ferry to Calais before cycling to our first overnight stay.
Day two: We head south from Calais to where we spend the night in Arras.
Day three: The ride continues south to the more forested region around Compiègne; an attractive town which lies on the banks of the River Oise, and our stop for the night.
Day four: Our final day’s cycling takes us southwest. We cycle through the Parisian streets, sweeping around the Arc de Triomphe and down the famed Champs-Elysées to our finish beneath the lofty arches of the Eiffel Tower!
