Story

On 4th June 2023 we lost our beautiful mum, Alyson, after a 10 year battle with Alzheimer's. She was diagnosed in December 2013 with a rare form of Dementia called Posterior Cortical Atrophy (also known as PCA).

The nature of the disease means that day by day, and year by year, the layers of that person is slowly stripped away until you are left with nothing but the core of who they are. But the core of our mum was nothing but beautiful; she never failed to amaze us with her strength and brutal positivity. She loved deeply and exuded a joy for life that was contagious, making everyone happier when she was around. It has truly been an honour to call Alyson our mum and our friend.

We have promised to always keep her loving spirit alive and so in honour of this, in September 2024, all our closest friends and family are helping to raise money for Alzheimer's society by running the Wimbledon Common Half Marathon.

This terminal illness has impacted and continues to affect many families around the world but we hope we can contribute to the prevention and cure of Dementia to ensure that one day, no individual has to experience the distressing pain caused by this disease.

Any donations, no matter how small will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
