In Summer 2019, my Dad was back in Southend University Hospital again and extremely ill. He was in The Windsor Ward on the 6th Floor of the hospital tower building. During a visit to the café downstairs one day I picked up a leaflet about the charity abseil. I’m not a particular fan of heights but I decided that if Dad could put up with everything that he was going through without once complaining that I could abseil down the 9-storey tower.

I am taking part in this event to raise money for three charities –

The Mid and South Essex Hospitals Charity,

Headway,

and Alzheimer’s Research UK.
