JENNY TILLEY: I am participating in the Marathon Des Sables (MDS) in March/April 2022. The MDS is a multi-stage ultra-marathon in the Sahara Desert - it has been classified as the Toughest Footrace on Earth. It is 6 days running over 250km (156miles) across sand dunes, rocky jebels and white-hot sand plains, with daily temperatures of up to 50 degrees. We each need to carry everything we need to survive on our backs, including sleeping bags, mats and all food for the week.

I have chosen to support YoungMinds as they are the UK's leading charity fighting for children and young people's mental health, their support stops young peoples mental health reaching crisis point.

I have decided to support YoungMinds as a close friend of mine is a History Teacher and Boarding Tutor looking after students of GCSE and A-Level age. They, sadly, had to cope with a student committing suicide during one of the lockdowns, and subsequently were overwhelmed to deal with this own their own. This is not just an isolated incident, but far reaching across different demographics and areas.
