ACHA is a first of a kind research unit based in North East London and working to understand how to help the diverse communities living in this part of our city age better. It aims to do locally relevant research that is internationally recognised, and to make North East London an internationally recognised centre of excellence for care of older people.

ACHA is only possible because of the generous support of the Barts Charity, who provided the much needed funding to kickstart our initiative.

Three members of the ACHA team - Prof Liz Sampson, Prof Adam Gordon and Malachy Finnegan - are running the Hackney Half with friends Prof Simon Conroy, Prof Sarah Finer and Dr Cristina Sorlini to raise funds for Barts Charity and to recognise the important contribution they have made to ageing research in London and more widely.
