Story
On Sunday, 27th of April 2025, ABL Group will be taking on the London Marathon for a cause that’s really close to my heart: the Royal Society for Blind Children (RSBC). Running 42.2 km (26.1 miles) is going to be a massive challenge, but I’m inspired by the incredible work RSBC does, and I’d be so grateful if you’d consider sponsoring me to help support this worthy cause.
Right now, there are around 44,000 blind and partially sighted children in England and Wales. Every day, four more children will face a sight loss diagnosis, and the challenges that come with it. The statistics are heartbreaking: blind children are twice as likely to be bullied, and one in three will experience depression or other mental health issues. Shockingly, 90% of blind young people will never have a long-term job, and two-thirds will live on or below the poverty line. Many will never experience a meaningful relationship.
But RSBC is working to change this. They don’t just support the children—they work closely with families, helping to create environments where blind children can thrive. Through their incredible programmes and activities, RSBC helps young people develop confidence, independence, and meaningful friendships, so they can reach their full potential.
