In lieu of giving Christmas cards to friends and colleagues at work this year, we'd like to encourage you to give to a worthy cause instead. You can write a message to go on the giving tree on the wall of the coffee room, or post a message on the donation page, which will be added to the tree.

We've chosen two charities and you can give to either or both with separate donations. Just a couple of pounds to reflect the cost of a card, or more if you can afford it, will help to make a difference. Doing it through JustGiving means you will be able to add gift aid to your donation, which we can't do if we collect cash.

Aberdeen North Foodbank, as many people are having difficulties with providing the basic food items for themselves or their children.

And the RNLI, as they have been involved in rescuing people in the city and shire during recent flooding.
