Our beautiful Angel, Abigail Bulman-Hook, sadly gained her wings this year after an 18 month long battle with breast cancer. Those that new her, would agree when I say, she was the most beautiful person in every way, and gave everything to everyone else - even when she needed everyone to give something to her.

Abbie was taken care of by the Teenage and Young Adult unit (TYA) at Castle Hill Hospital in Hull, and the care she received by the nurses in the unit was second to none, they became part of Abbies extended family. They cared for her like their own, they gave her experiences that in her darkest months, brightened her days, and they made some of her wishes come true.

Sadly, one of the things myself and Abbie spoke about for the many years I knew her for, completing the three peaks challenge, was no longer possible when she passed away. We had always said we would take the dogs and make a weekend of it, so that’s exactly what myself, and some of Abbie’s closest family and friends, are going to be doing in her memory.

We will be completing this challenge in aid of the TYA, and the WISHH charity that supports those patients and friends that are sadly battling this terrible disease. The charity and the unit, will be able to make peoples wishes come true, and help those that need it the most, like our Abbie. I hope we can raise an amazing amount of money to be donated, to help those beautiful souls that are unfortunately battling daily.

Historically hospitals have always relied on public support, even after the founding of the NHS; Hull and East Yorkshire (HEY) Hospitals are no different. Our mission as a charity is to raise money to help the Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital do more to ensure every patient receives the best and most modern care possible. Your support will help provide additional specialist equipment and support services, as well as aid the transformation of spaces and facilities within the hospitals for patient and visitor comfort alike.
