Story
A brother and sister who are profoundly deaf, running for the National Deaf Children’s society in the 2023 London Marathon. Toby and Poppy were born deaf and implanted with cochlear implants at an early age. Children born profoundly deaf like Toby and Poppy undoubtedly face enormous challenges not only in communication skills but also the ability to socially interact with their peers. With the help of professionals and support from charities such as the ‘The National Deaf Children’s Society’ parents and carers are better equipped to help their children address so many of these difficulties. Toby and Poppy with the help they have received are now living independently and are able to communicate with the world as a whole. They would like to give back to this charity for all the help they have received during their childhood and would be hugely grateful for any donation to this wonderful cause.
