UPDATE 1/8/2022
This weekend saw 4 of our team complete the last “By Land” phase!! 40.1 miles of the most arduous, hilly terrain and 17 hours later we reached the end - the original 12 hours was a tad ambitious given the terrain (which we realised about an hour in!)… having said that our time in motion was around 13 hours and an average pace of 3.3 mph - so not bad at all! Slapton Sands Memorial to Pegasus Bridge Memorial - a stunningly beautiful route (when we could see it through the tears and sweat 😂).
Thank you to everyone for the amazing support! It was TOUGH but we did it! The second part of our team is up at the end of the month so watch out for more updates while we support them - for now a huge well done to Lucy, Amy, Jules and Vic for the weekends efforts!! 💪👏
UPDATE 28/7/22
The “By Land” and our final challenge is upon us! This Saturday we don our walking boots and trek the 40 miles from Slapton Sands (where the DDay Landings were rehearsed and where many lives were sadly lost) to Double Locks (where the Pegasus Bridge practices were held). Some of us are held together with metal plates and pins and all of us carry the niggles of old injuries. We are determined and after weeks of not seeing each other we have A LOT to talk about and catch up on! We are aiming to get the job done in as near to 12 hours as we can but we are flexible with this and will update you along the way!
Thank you for the support! Please continue to share and drop us an encouraging message…. Were going to need it! 😂
UPDATE 3/4/22
We have been scuppered by poor weather 3 times now but HAVE managed to get 5 Sky Dives and 1 Wing Walk through in a good weather window! Good old English weather! We still have 10 Wing Walks and 3 Sky Dives to push through and will get those booked in as soon as the gods of wind, rain and fog cut us some slack!! It was a BALTIC 3rd April day which saw us skydiving at 15,000ft in -22 temperatures and travelling at 120mph!! Cold doesnt even come close!! We need a warm one soon!! January‘s FREEZING skinny dip was supposed to be the only cold one 😂🥶
