Story
Five members of the Planning Portal team will be cycling a gruelling 69-mile route over Cheddar Gorge, to raise money for charity.
Ben Price, Graeme Kirk, Ian Foster, Neil Davies and Scott Alford from the team in Bristol will be taking on the challenge in April.
The Planning Portal opened up nominations from our users to nominate a charity, and 'We Build the Future' was chosen, a charity founded to help people beat cancer.
We Build the Future has 3 key objectives:
1: To support people who work in the construction and built environment sector who face the challenge of dealing with cancer in their lives.
2: To fund research which can help accelerate improvements in the prevention, detection and treatment of cancer.
3: To promote health and wellbeing in the construction and built environment sector in order to help reduce the risk of people developing cancer in the first place.
With more than three million people working in the Construction and Built Environment sector, if we all give a little we can help to accelerate improvements in cancer survival and help build a future where more people beat cancer.
To do this We Build the Future have partnered up with the world’s biggest cancer charity, Cancer Research UK , to support their research and to provide access to expert information and support for people working in the Construction and Built Environment sector.
