Story
This Just Giving page has been set up in loving memory of Mia Alison Hankins.
On November 11th 2020 beautiful Mia at just 6 years of age was diagnosed suddenly with a brain tumour. She received an operation on the 20th November to remove it but despite the best efforts of the amazing staff at Southampton Hospital Mia stayed sleeping and passed away on the 21st November 2020.
The brave and beautiful girl we all love so dearly was able to prolong the lives of 3 others in need through organ donation, making us even more proud of the caring and amazing young lady she is.
She was and always will be a cherished Daughter, Granddaughter, great Granddaughter, Niece, cousin, and friend. 💜
The charities we have selected are very close to our hearts. Firstly the Brain Tumour Charity and Brain Tumour Research, we want to further assist all their hard work to increase survival rates, improve the quality of life of those diagnosed, and most importantly to find a cure.
Secondly, The Ronald McDonald House Charity. They personally helped Tom and Hannah stay close to Mia, even throughout the pandemic, so they could be by her side throughout. We will be forever grateful for their generosity in this difficult time and will be supporting their vision to ensure that every child in hospital has their family close by.
Mia's family and friends will be organising events and challenges to raise money for these worthy causes but most importantly to remember the life of beautiful Mia, who was taken too soon but will be forever in our hearts.
