Story

"Hi everyone my name is John Edmondson. I am just one of 5000 people living with MND in the UK. Together with my amazing group of family and friends we are determined to raise funds and awareness to give hope to everyone who has to face this dreadful disease. My good friend Paul Donegan and I have created the MND 1000 challenge to drive this ambition, allowing people to have a bit of fun and get a little bit fitter along the way. Imagine the difference it will make if all of you take on the MND 1000, no matter how simple your exercises may be..

PROGRESS on RESEARCH

When i was diagnosed the worst thing was to be told that there was no cure. However since then some promising treatments are reaching the end of successful trials. Some experts are saying that there is now no need for anyone to die of MND because there are effective treatments out there, however funding is always an issue to get things over the line & this is a little something anyone can do to help...

How the challenge works :

Each participant challenges themselves to 1000 repetitive exercises, whether it's press ups, sit ups, squats, star jumps etc... the limit is only your imagination. Obviously 1000 press ups is difficult to achieve in one hit, so John is doing assisted press ups (off his Knees) over 10 days with a minutes rest in between each set of 20.

The key is to keep it moving forward so we'd love it if participants will nominate 3 people to accept the challenge. If you can film it and post it on social media that's even better!
