Story
We are taking part in the Brain Tumour Research Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge on Saturday 3rd June 2023. We have a team together that will be taking on this challenge to raise as much as we possibly can.
We are raising money for Brain Tumour Research because someone that we love so much has recently been diagnosed with brain cancer. There isn't enough research out there and in our case the brain cancer almost always presents itself when it's too late.
Our lives have changed dramatically since receiving the news and ultimately our lives will never be the same. By raising as much money as possible this will hopefully help families that find themselves in our situation have better chances of survival and a more hopeful future.
We want to be able fund clinical trials which will enable new treatments, new funding and we hope this will contribute towards saving and supporting many of people living with this kind of cancer and their families.
One in three people know someone affected by a brain tumour and brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease.
Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this!
Brain Tumour Research are the only national charity in the UK focused on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours through campaigning to increase the national investment in brain tumour research to £35 million per year, while fundraising to create a network of seven sustainable Brain Tumour Research Centres of Excellence across the UK.
