Story
Walking is something that, like most of us, I totally took for granted. All that changed when we were told that it was something our son Louie would probably never be able to do.
We set off on the very long journey of getting him up and learning to put one foot in front of the other, which he eventually did after hundreds of hours of therapy, hard work and some very specialised help. I've never taken walking for granted since.
But getting kids on their feet is expensive and time consuming and the two charities I'd like to support by undertaking this walk have both helped Louie hugely.
Brainwave is a charity that provides therapy to help children with disabilities reach their full potential and gain as much independence as possible. They got Louie walking.
Special People On Ice (SPICE) is an amazing, inspiring group of volunteers who turn out every Sunday morning to teach kids with disabilities to skate and play ice, hockey. They gave and continue to give Louie the confidence to really fly.
I wanted to split any donations equally between both charities as they've been equally important on Louie's journey but I can't do that on JustGiving so please bear this in mind if you feel you can donate. Thanks so much for anything you feel you can give. It's very much appreciated and will help many, many more children reach their full potential. xx
