Story
My name is Mike. Over the years, our family has had help from a variety of charities, this is in a small way maybe turning the support the other way. How am I doing that? Bit of a bike ride.
This is a well known cycle, London to Brighton. And after all this time, it is with other people which hopefully makes it easier as you can chat along the way.
Another thing that helps keep me going, is knowing that by doing this I am raising money for these charities. They all need support as recently charity fund raising has suffered.
It should be about 55 miles, but I riding to the start and then home at the end so I guess it will be about 70. A decent spin for anyone.
For me? A bit tougher. I am still recovering after surgery and chemo last year for bowel cancer, and there are some long lasting effects from that which make hill climbing hard. And this ride finishes with the beacon!
Make it easier for me to stick in there when it gets really tough and get to the end by sponsoring whichever charity you connect with. I will need that help.
The charity pages can be identified by the sponsorship targets as follows.
£100 = Bowel Cancer UK. £101 = Stroke Association £102 = Multiple Sclerosis Society. £103 = MacMillan Cancer Support. £104 = Cardiac Risk in the Young. £105 = Dementia UK.
