We fundraise for brain tumour research to find a cure for this devastating disease

Story

We are a team of 6, with varying swimming abilities, from a channel swimmer to a Frosties 25m swimming badge holder, with one clear cause in mind - to raise money for the Brian Cross Memorial Trust.

This summer, we’ll be competing in the world’s longest inland lake swimming race, the Maillot d’Or. We’ll have to swim the length of Lake Geneva, 70km from the Chillon Castle to Bains de Paquis, racing other teams, many of who will also be raising money to tackle brain cancer.

Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under 40, yet survival rates and treatment have barely changed in the last 40 years - and only 1% of cancer research funding goes to brain tumours. It’s an issue that has affected our loved ones, and since 2006, when Brian Cross passed away, the Trust has raised an astonishing 1million for vital brain tumour research - but there is more to do.

Help us take on this challenge! Any and every donation will help us get out of bed for those early morning training sessions - and whether or not we win the coveted Maillot d’Or (Golden Swimsuit) Prize - we hope we can be coveted fundraising champions!

Alex, Becs, George, Jonny, Sam & Russell.

    About the charity

Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under 40, yet survival rates and treatment have barely changed in the last 40 years. Since 2006 we have been raising vital funds for brain tumour research in memory of Brian and all those who have been affected by this cruel disease.
