Story
As some of you will know we were expecting our much longed for daughter, sister to Lily, and granddaughter due on the 20th March.
I went into early labour on Sunday 17th March and noticing baby's movements had decreased decided to go into hospital early. After putting Lily to bed and leaving my mum to stay with her, we left with our hospital bags expecting it to be the last evening as a family of 3. While at hospital we had two doctors scan us and we’re devastated to learn that there wasn't a heart beat.
We don’t have any answers yet as to why and had heard her heart beating as normal 3 days before at a midwife appt.
Erin Iris Blair was born 18th march at 12.45, 7lb 13oz and absolutely perfect. She looked just like her sister. We are devastated that she couldn’t come home.
I am taking part in the 60 Miles in June Challenge for Tommy’s because I want to raise money to support vital medical research into stillbirth. Up to 50% of families may never find out why their babies died and sadly research into miscarriage, Still birth and neonatal death is chronically underfunded. I would like to try to help save other family’s from this grief.
It will also give me a reason to get out everyday while I am off work. I will be swimming and walking the 60 miles and hoping to get her some big hills in.
Please sponsor me (or join me!) and you too can help end the heartbreak and devastation of baby loss.
Thank you.
