Story
So, you may be asking yourself, 'Why would two women want to run 51 miles around the Suffolk coast on 14th May 2022?' Sometimes, we're asking ourselves the same question, when we're trying to plan our training runs around our busy family schedules. But then we remember; we're running 51 miles for dear little Hope Lane, who we have both known since she was a tiny little girl.
Hope is a happy, cheeky 9 year old who lives at home with her mum and dad, her identical twin sister and her big brother. What makes Hope different from other 9 year old girls though, is the fact that she has Quadriplegic Spastic Dystonic Cerebral Palsy, which means that she can't sit, stand or walk. Despite these adversities, Hope has a zest for life and wants to do as much as her body will allow her to do. Twice weekly private physiotherapy sessions help Hope to improve her strength and balance as well as increase her confidence and encourage her speech.
We would love to raise funds for Hope to ensure that she can continue this physio, as it makes a real difference to her. Just take a look at the gallery photos of her and look at that smile!
BUT, WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!!
We would really appreciate it if you could please sponsor us to complete this challenge. On 14th May, we will start the Five Rivers Ultra Marathon at 9am in Felixstowe and we hope to cross the finish line, 51.21 miles later, at 9pm, in Blaxhall.
This fundraising will go directly to Hope and not into the general charity fund. Thankyou so much for taking the time to read this and we are so grateful for any sponsorship we receive.
Wish us luck!
Love Roxie & Jana xxx
