Story
2020 has proven to be an extremely challengin
g year for us all hasn’t it..? I thought it couldn’t get any worse, but sadly it did…!
My family lost ‘Sally’, a Wife, Mother and Granny to us all. Sally was a caring, vivacious and indefatigable lady and she is sorely missed.
Sally was ‘Granny’ to me but unfortunately passed away after a short illness from Alzheimer’s disease. Sadly, we were unable to spend the final weeks of her life with her because of the COVID-19 restrictions in the hospital.
If you were lucky enough to know or have met Sally, you knew she had caring nature, something my family will treasure forever.
Therefore, I would like to dedicate this event in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society and importantly, to my Granny!
My family will be targetting 4000Km of physical activity over a 31-day period. Additionally, I will be completing 1000Km of it, SOLO! We have already come up with some imaginative ways of undergoing this physical activity to help tick down those 1000km. From rowing to plodding around a golf course. Every day I will be updating our progress on a blog (link) where you can track the type of activity we are all undergoing – wherever in the UK we are located in.
The importance of my whole family joining me in this effort to raise money is a massive motivation boost for me. It raises that all-important money for dementia research but also allows to my family to remember ‘Sally’ – a Wife, a Mother and my Granny!
Any donations will be gratefully received to support this debilitating disease
Thank you for your support. I’ve included all the links to the funding page, my blog to keep an update of the challenge and most importantly what your support will help in the future
