We provide support and fund vital research to make myeloma history

Story

We are Jim, Ben & Eddie. In November 2019, our friend Adam was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma (MM), a rare, incurable form of blood cancer. We 4 boys have known each other all our lives so, when the three of us told Adam we wanted to raise some money in his name he told us, in no uncertain terms, he was in too!

Adam was diagnosed with MM at 42 years old. He has a beautiful wife, Petra, a young daughter Lucy (3) and their son William arrived the day after his diagnosis. The typical prognosis for MM patients is 10 years but Adam is younger and fitter than most MM patients so we are hopeful of him doing better than that. But, with such a young family, Adam’s biggest fear is that his job as a father may not be complete when his time comes.

However, it is not all doom and gloom. Research into blood cancers has seen tremendous development in recent years and there is hope that a cure for this disease may be available within Adam’s lifetime. The race therefore is on.

Myeloma UK are the only charity in the UK specifically focused on MM. They provide support to patients and are heavily involved in the research to find a cure. We are therefore committed to do everything we can to support Myeloma UK in all of their endeavours. We believe this is our best chance to help Adam be there for Petra, Lucy and William for as long as they need him.

This is our race. Please join us or support us in anyway you can. Thank you.
