Story
In the UK, approximately 1 man will take their own life every hour. Suicide is the bigest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK.
Andy's Man Club are talking groups all accross the UK. A place for men to come together in a safe environment to talk about issues and problems they have faced or are currently facing. AMC was formed by Luke Ambler and his mother-in-law Elaine after his brother-in-law Andy, took his own life.
I am rowing (paddling) 30 miles from Skipton to Leeds via the Leeds Liverpool Canal. All funds raised will go to Andy's Man Club to help the vital work they do with suicide prevention. We believe that services like Andy's Man Club could genuinely change society and how we view mental health.
Staff and students of Leeds City College are getting involved too, joining the team for the last 3 miles of the canal, either: Walking, running, or litter-picking.
We are also raising money for Canals and Rivers Trust.
