Story
On the 18th of June (the 205th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo) our team of 10 members of the WU community will be completing a 26 mile march within 13 hours. Each person will march 2.6 miles, starting at 0515 and ending at 1815 that evening. Clive Jones, our long-time supporter, veteran of the Welsh Guards, and Napoleonic Reenactor, will be closing the challenge by completing the final 2.6 miles in his period accurate Coldstream Guards kit. We hope to raise £1,815 by the time Clive finishes his march at 1815 on the 18th!
Waterloo Uncovered is all about team spirit, and whilst we can't be together during this time, we can complete this challenge together! We hope you can support us by making a donation or fundraising for us. Funds will go directly towards our support of veterans and serving military personnel through our ground breaking archaeology project at the Waterloo Battlefield. Find out more about what we do here.
Waterloo Uncovered combines world-class archaeology with a programme of care and recovery for veterans and serving military personnel suffering from some of the physical and mental impacts of their service. Since 2015 the charity has been excavating on the site of one of the world's most decisive battles - Waterloo in Belgium. In that time, we have supported over 100 beneficiaries and have made important new discoveries about the battle and the men who took part.
Support us now to help us continue to support more veterans and military personnel!
