From 9am on Friday 27th May to 9am on Saturday 28th May, we will be completing a 24 Hour Sportathon to raise money for ME Research and The Link Foundation.

There will be 8 of us looking to complete the full 24 hour event (aka the 24 Hour Warriors), however we will also be joined by community clubs, family and friends over the course of the 24 hour period. During the event we will be participating in over 24 different sports - a dream come true for some, a nightmare for others!

ME Research looks to fund high quality biomedical research into ME/CFS - to find its cause, develop effective treatment and ultimately to discover a cure. My friend Mark, has been bed bound with ME for multiple years after a sudden spiral into the disease after a normal start to his twenties. Mark, a full of life individual, has gone from being the life and soul of any gathering to someone whom can't communicate with the outside world or interact with what we take for granted every day. This charity is close to our hearts and we hope that the money we raise will make a BIG difference.

The Link Foundation is a charity based in Maidenhead and also happens to also be one of our Partner Charities at Maidenhead United. The charity seeks to provide support to local children and families with the main aim of improving lives within the local community and surrounding areas. Support varies dependent upon the application, however in many cases financial support has been brought in to help families with household appliances, travel and beds/cots.
