Story
2023 marks the 30th anniversary for 3 & 4 Regiment Army Air Corps, and 29th for 7 Aviation Support Battalion Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers of calling Wattisham Station home.
To mark this auspicious event the units will compete in an endurance competition on the 17th-18th October 2023: Exercise BIG PUSH, that consists of each unit pushing a Land Rover truck for 24hrs to achieve the furthest overall distance.
While the aim of the competition is to build leadership, team cohesion, physical and mental resilience of our personnel through a challenging competitive activity. The units will also take the opportunity to enhance civil engagement with the local community through fundraising for local services.
In celebration of our time at Wattisham, and the joy and support that the local Hospital has given so many of our service people, we will aim to raise funds for the Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity's Children’s Appeal, building a brand new Children's Department at Ipswich Hospital, and the Ipswich Hospital Maternity Ward.
Please support the troops competing in this arduous endurance event by donating to such a worthy, hardworking and key Hospital service.
Each unit has their own fundraising page.
