Story
Hi all, firstly think you for taking the time to read this thread.
This year we are taking part in 'Race The World' for ABF The Soldiers Charity, who provide vital support to soldiers, veterans and their families in times of need. The leg in which we are covering in the event is the South Americas stage, which in total, is around 7,500kms. This will be achieved by members of the Battalion over three separate disciplines. Cycling, Running and Swimming.
As a team of 10+ riders, we will be conducting a ride from Carlisle Castle, to the home of the 1st Battalion, The Duke of Lancaster's Regiment, in Chester.
This ride will cover approx 160 miles and 8500ft of elevation passing through a number of towns along the way. This will include; Carlisle, Penrith, Shap, Kirby Lonsdale, Lancaster, Preston, warrington and finally in to Chester.
This will be a demanding route for most, as it will cover a distance that majority of the riders have never come close to covering previously. This ride will have a target goal of 12hrs (moving time) and will all be in one day to make it a real challenge to most taking part.
We as a team kindly ask that all who have taken the time so far to read this page, please donate as little or as generously as you can.
All the money raised will be paid in full to the Soldiers Charity. The ABF
