Story
The 180DC Edinburgh committee will be taking on the 2025 Edinburgh Half Marathon to raise funds for Cancer Card. We've had the privilege of working with this incredible charity in the past and have seen first-hand the difference they make in the lives of so many. Their impact reaches across the UK, providing support to patients, caregivers, and families every day.
Cancer Card is a national charity dedicated to helping anyone affected by cancer by providing a single, comprehensive platform to access crucial information, services, and support. From treatment resources to emotional care and even free treats, Cancer Card is there to guide patients and their families through every step of the cancer journey.
The charity was founded by Jen Hardy, an inspiring Edinburgh local living with stage 4 incurable breast cancer. Jen was diagnosed on October 18, 2017, following a CT scan that revealed the cause of her paralysed vocal cords. In her search for support services, she realised there was no central hub to easily find and access the hundreds of organisations offering vital help. This gap led Jen to establish Cancer Card, creating a much-needed lifeline that brings all cancer-related resources together in one place, making them more accessible to those who need them most.
We would be very grateful for any donations in support of Cancer Card - thank you!
