Hello and thanks for your support. In 2020 I wore fancy dress costumes to work, attending hundreds of video calls in an effort to boost the mental health of my colleagues, friends and family. I wanted to create more opportunities to talk about mental health and to reduce the stigma of mental health. Why? Because I know first hand how it feels to experience mental ill health; the isolation, desperation, confusion, shame and fear.

I also wanted to do something positive, helping those around me have a laugh and giving them a reason to feel hopeful (when hope was in short supply).

After being inspired by Joe Wicks and his 'fancy dress Friday', my one fancy dress costume turned into 34 and snowballed! I've been featured on the Zoe Ball Radio Breakfast show, interviewed LIVE on BBC Breakfast and BBC Radio 5 Live, and featured by the Metro Onine, BBC Online, ITV Anglia, local radio and my local paper, the Comet.

I've raised £7,000 (inc. gift aid) and counting for national and local charities close to my heart. But I don't plan to stop there. In 2021 I want to generate more awareness, more money and more laughs. My fancy dress journey will continue for the foreseeable future... :)

You can see daily posts (photos and videos) of my outfits on the Mental Health Fancy Dress Challenge Facebook page. Alternatively head over to my Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram profiles.

So enjoy my costumes, laugh at my expense, share what I'm doing and if you can, donate.

Nick x
