Our intrepid coach will be competing in the ‘Marathon Des Sables Legendary 2026’ event in the Sahara Desert on April 2nd, 2026.

In honour of this spectacular undertaking, 1066 Swimmers are hosting a charity event on Sunday, 22nd March, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, which we are calling ‘Swim Des Sables’.

The longest stage of the race is an incredible 100km. To support our head coach Dean in fundraising for Race Against Dementia, club swimmers will aim to swim 100 lengths each during the two-hour squad session, which equates to an impressive 2.5km each.
