We work worldwide to ensuring all wild animals are respected

Story

On the 25th of May 2014, Tomas Wendin - a man with a spinal cord injury - set off with a support crew from 227 km above the Arctic Circle, to attempt a world first. Pushing himself the length of Sweden, in a self-propelled wheelchair. That's around 2,000 km, from Abisko at the northern tip to Smygehuk at the southern tip. The expedition took three months.

Why did we do it? Two reasons:

1. To give a man a grand achievement.

2. To do good. To help the innocents of this world by raising funds for - and awareness of - Born Free, the animal welfare and conservation charity. We aim to make an impact against abuse,  poaching, wildlife trafficking, and extinctions.

Joining Tomas as his support crew on his crossing were cameraman and film director DC Barclay, and writer and nurse Leo Jux. Other crew took it in turns to join us for part of the way. It was an emotionally and physically challenging world record undertaking.
