SWAY has been an important Isle of Wight charity since October 2014. In that time, we have grown to serve the young people and families of South Wight.

We run groups for young people in the week, events for them in the holidays, residential trips away to a variety of places and other special events. We offer mentoring/counselling services for young people and their families and aim to bring young people together in volunteering opportunities for their communities.

We are grateful for all the support we have received and for the temporary premises we have been afforded over the years. However, we have been aware for a while that we need a physical base at the heart of the area in order to extend our work. Sway Community Hub Bringing hope to a community. 

The vision for a Community Hub in Chale. This is an exciting venture for us, which could see us launch so many ideas out of the Hub where isolation and loneliness are common problems. We are a small charity, but we believe we have an important and vital role in the community of South Wight. 

So, how do we see ourselves managing such a large task? Sway has applied for a number of grants from funders for the majority of the capital costs and has raised over £30,000 itself. Our Just Giving target is £70,000 which is the shortfall of total costs of £300,000.

We are hoping that, as we explain our vision to the community of the Isle of Wight, we might find some generous donors who would like to support this exciting project.
