Story

On the 16th November 2022, we sadly lost our lovely Wife and Mum, Teresa after a fall resulted in a fatal brain injury.  The shock of her death has been a lot for us to deal with and we all felt such a concern of how we would tell her precious grandchildren Zach, Eddie and Sophia.

Mum had a really close bond with her grandchildren and we knew it would be a really sad and difficult conversation to have.  Fortunately St George's hospital works with an amazing charity Made a Mark, whom provided us with a really special memory box for each of the children.  This box had helpful and supportive guidance books to support us in telling the children in a compassionate way, but also so they fully understood that their Grandma wouldn't be coming back.  Alongside this, the box had a pair of matching soft toys that they could have one and leave the other with Grandma, along with books for them to read, a journal and ways to always remember their amazing Grandma.  The value of this box was indescribable and we cannot thank Made a Mark for helping us at this difficult time.

If you would like to make a small donation, instead of flowers for Mum's funeral, to help this charity with their amazing work to carry on supporting families like ours, we would really appreciate that.

Love Brian, Jane & Suzanne XXX

At Made a Mark we supply memory boxes to various organisations across England & Wales to help support children bereaved of a parent (or similar care giver) and/or sibling. 2022 has proven to be our busiest year, we have supplied over 1,000 memory boxes to date and now find ourselves in an unprecedented position of needing to order our THIRD batch of memory boxes in a year! Please help us fund the next 500 memory boxes by making a donation no matter how big or small. Due to facing ongoing increased demand we now find ourselves close to turning requests for support down meaning children will miss out on the memory making opportunities and guidance that our memory boxes offer. If you would like to support our cause by other means or support us behind closed doors please email our Treasurer alistair@madeamarkcharity.com
