Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have suffered from a silent crippling at times condition called Ankylosing Spondylitis which affects the spine. It took ten years before I was finally diagnosed  in 2011 and  my aim is to raise awareness of the condition I challenged  myself to complete a 2.5 mile swim 112 mile bike  & a marathon in under 16 hours on Sunday 27th July 2014  simply because at the moment I can. It is taking on average 10 years to diagnose this condition and for some this is too late.    NASS work hard and are getting the word out there to raise awareness of this silent condition. I have seen the results of people being misdiagnosed and it is heart breaking to see. I  travelled  to Switzerland to take part in the Zurich Ironman and completed my goal . My story is below in the updates section and Ive also added pictures of people who have helped me get to the start line after a major flare up in 2011 which left me virtually bed ridden for 7 months and  I cant thank these people enough especially the boss!!! Dr Hassan Tahir "told ya I could do it" !!!
