Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am taking part in the London Triathlon this year in order to support the South African charity MaAfrica Tikkun. This charity supports children and adults suffering from HIV/AIDS as well as extreme poverty. The Patron-in-Chief is Nelson Mandela and the charity was founded by my current employer. The work of the charity is split between support of those suffering from HIV and education and skills development in poorer comunities. Those who have visitied the centres say the work and results are fantastic and that the principle of making local communities self sufficient really can work.
To that end I have agreed to be part of a three man team to tackle the full Olympic version of this event! I will head the team off by doing a 1,500m swim whereafter my colleagues Mark va Ree [bike] and Peter Cole [run] will bring the baton home. I am also representing a Belron Specials team for the swimming leg (I will wear two tags, I am not swimming round twice!). Here I will Join Samuel Avenal [Bike] and Jim Wood [Run]. I have been training and hope you are able to support me and the cause on 30th July.
