We breed and train guide dogs to give blind people freedom and mobility

Story

Stepping Stones Marketing are this year running the Great North Run to raise monies for Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Director Dawn James along with son Matthew will be taking to the streets of Newcastle to take on this iconic run on Sunday September 7th. Along with the Stepping Stones Marketing back up team providing transport, motivational support, physiotherapy and a shoulder to lean (cry) on at the end we hope to help this great charity,

Thanks for any donations you make.

The event now successfully completed we would like to thank everyone for their support and donations. For the record Dawn completed the race in 2.02.02 and Matthew in 1.39.30 (with an injured knee - to be fair he should not have run at all!). Here is to the next one.......

Every hour, another person in the UK goes blind, which means we need to train more guide dog puppies. Donations ensure that a guide dog puppy can receive training – from those tentative first days with a puppy walker through to more advanced training at guide dog school and eventually matching them with the right owner. All your donations will play a vital part in giving independence and freedom to blind and partially sighted people.

The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.
