Story
During lockdown many charities have lost a significant proportion of their donations and are facing major financial challenges. At the same time domestic abuse in the UK has been on the increase. Many people are stuck in the same home as their abuser. RISE are a wonderful charity who do so much to help people facing these very challenging circumstances. A friend of mine who was helped by this charity described them as 'genuine lifesavers'.
RISE provide vital services to survivors such as a domestic abuse helpline, children's refuge centre, counselling and other types of therapy for both adults and children. Raising £1000 will make a huge difference to how widely these services can be offered during times of economic hardship.
Both Mr Spear and Mr Field have said that they are happy to have their heads shaved to raise money for RISE. The teacher with the most votes will be getting their headshaved!
*When you donate please comment with the name of the teacher you would like to see having their head shaved. You will be able to watch this happen by video on Friday 17th.
In order to vote - after deciding on the amount you would like to give, you will be asked if you would like to write a message. At this point you will need to write either 'Vote Mr Spear' or 'Vote Mr Field'.
So, who do you want to see lose their hair more? Which mathematician will be getting sunburnt on top this summer? The power is in your pocket!
In all seriousness, we are grateful for whatever you feel able to give during these uncertain times. Whether it's £1 or a lot more, it all counts.
Thanks again,
Mr Spear & Mr Field
