Tina's Tinyhorse Trotathon

Tinyhorse Trotathon Β· 13 July 2020
A tenacious team of three tinyhorses are competing in their own Tri-Nation Trotathon to complete three marathons in support of Mountain Rescue! π΄π΄π΄
South Snowdonia Search and Rescue Team (SSSRT) have 35 volunteer members covering an area of approximately 800 square kilometres of the southern half of Snowdonia National Park. These wilder areas of Snowdonia attract those walkers and climbers who wish to get away from the more populated mountain areas to the north. But though the area may be quieter the team have to contend with some of the gnarliest terrain to be found in the National Park. They assist the North Wales police and are often involved in helping to locate missing or vulnerable people in lowland and built-up areas as well as having many Team members trained in swift water rescue techniques to help in the event of an incident in the areas many rivers and lakes.
Mountain Rescue Teams rely on donations and many avenues of fundraising completely dried up during months of lockdown as donation boxes sat empty in pubs, shops and cafes that were closed and fundraising events were cancelled.
Tinyhorse Angus (codename: Tyson Fury) became well loved with his recent 'MR'athon' challenge. Representing his birthplace of Wales, he will continue to support his nominated team, South Snowdonia Search & Rescue in the stunning and popular North Wales mountains. Angus is a mini powder keg - feisty, full of energy, determined, single minded and prefers to always do things his way! He's a fast-footed front runner and prospective podium placer though often jeopardises his chances with his crazy antics, tantrums and regular spoiling for a fight. Angus has mastered the wild style of Burro Racing and running with him is a full body workout, more demanding than a HIIT session and you will most likely finish with bruises!π
