Fundraising for Voluntary Service Overseas
Story
In September I will begin a three-month volunteering project in Kenya, as part of the International Citizenship Service (ICS). I will be working with VSO in the town of Nanyuki, on a development project that focuses on improving the livelihoods of young people, women and the disabled.
In the run-up to the trip, I need to raise £800 for VSO. VSO is a charity that seeks to create long-term solutions to global poverty, by sending volunteers to communities of need. http://www.vso.org.uk/
The Onesie Run!
On 16th August, I am doing Sheffield’s 5k Big Fun Run, and will be running the whole thing in a turkey onesie! Any donations would be hugely appreciated - anything to justify me looking like a total gobbler. VSO is a fantastic charity, so any money raised will go a long way.
Donations will NOT go towards the costs of the trip - these are already covered by ICS. 100% of the money raised will go to VSO, to ensure that they can keep on with their great work!
