This week I will be cobbling together the minimal kit I have to add to the ever poor levels of fitness I am cursed with to go and climb some hills. The plan is to attempt to climb 24 peaks (each over 2400 feet) in the lake district with a total ascent of 4,400 meters and walking distance of 50km.
I am doing this to raise money for Berwin Leighton Paisner's Charity of the Year, Dementia UK, which does amazing work in a very difficult area, touching more and more families every year. Dementia UK provides Admiral Nurses to support people directly affected by all forms of dementia, and their family and friends.
Please give as much or as little as you can afford to support me in this challenge, every donation is gratefully received by me and by Dementia UK. Don’t forget to tick the gift aid box when you donate, which means the charity can claim back an extra 25% of tax you’ve already paid on your donation, at absolutely no cost to you.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
