On 15th May 2011, 42 walkers from Sinclair Pharma's affiliates in the UK, France, Italy and Spain will partake in the Company's first ever Group-wide fundraising activity: a sponsored walk on the Isle of Wight, from Bembridge to Carisbrooke, covering a total distance of 20 km.

 

As well as negotiating the the island's undulating landscape, our walkers will be embracing the outdoor spirit by camping out in tents the night before, braving the unpredictable UK summer weather.

 

This is clearly a great team-building exercise for Sinclair, as well as a fantastic opportunity for all employees to get involved in fundraising for the event organiser and charity, the Earl Mountbatten Hospice.

 

The Earl Mountbatten Hospice is the only hospice on the Isle of Wight, caring for over 800 patients every year either through the In-Patient Ward, Day-care Unit for Hospice @ Home team. It currently costs £3.7 million to run the hospice each year, and while it receives a grant from the local Primary Care Trust of about a third it still has to fundraise £4,500 each day to provide this unparalled level of care.

Le 15 mai 2011, 42 participants des filiales de Sinclair Pharma au Royaume-uni, en France, en Italie et en Espagne vont participer pour la première fois à une collecte de fonds : une randonnée sponsorisée de 20km sur l’ile de Wight en Angleterre.

 

En plus de découvrir et de subir le paysage tortueux de l’ile, les participants passeront la nuit précédente sous des tentes, affrontant ainsi avec courage le temps incertain de l’été anglais.

 

En plus de constituer un excellent exercice de team building pour Sinclair, c’est également une opportunité pour tous les employés de collecter des fonds pour l’organisateur de l’évènement, l’œuvre caritative « Hospice Earl Mountbatten ».

 

L’hospice Earl Mountbatten est le seul hospice de l’ile de Wight et soigne plus de 800 patients chaque année. Le budget annuel de l’hospice est actuellement de £3,7 million et, bien qu’il reçoive une subvention de la Sécurité Sociale, il doit quand même collecter £4.500 lui-même chaque jour afin d’assurer ce niveau de soins sans égal.
