Story
Hello and welcome to my JustGiving page!
On April 26th I will be running the London Marathon for EMERGENCY UK. I decided to run for EMERGENCY after watching a documentary about one of their free Surgical Centres in Lashkar Gar, Afghanistan. I was taken back by the amazing work that the surgeons do there, amid limited resources and a growing need for the high quality healthcare that they provide. Please take the time to find out more about EMERGENCY and the work they do around the world: http://www.emergency.it/en-index.html
Hopefully you'll agree that this is a very worthy cause, so whether it is pounds or pennies, it is all greatly appreciated.
Here are some examples of what your donation will buy:
£12 contributes to the purchase of personal protective equipment for healthcare workers in EMERGENCY's Ebola Treatment Centre in Sierra Leone
£15 covers the cost for blood tests for a week for an Ebola patient
£75 enables EMERGENCY to run 100 tuberculosis tests
£100 allows for the examining of 10 children at the Paediatric Centre in Sierra Leone
£600 can purchase a cardiac valve for a patient in the Centre for Cardic Surgery in Sudan.
If you would like to watch the documentary that inspired me to run for EMERGENCY, you can find it here: (I must warn you that some scenes are quite distressing) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6K5qBGBEE_c
