Story

3 Sept 2024:

I’m afraid I can no longer take part in the Kiltwalk this month but please do consider sponsoring my work pals who are still doing it!

________________

We are a group of walkers, led by Children in Scotland CEO, Dr Judith Turbyne and, for the first time, we will be taking part in this brilliant Scottish challenge to raise vital funds for the charity and the work we do with children and young people across Scotland.

It is properly tough across Scotland at the moment. The children and young people we are working with and for are at the sharp end of austerity and the long-term impacts of the pandemic.

The challenging times are also affecting us directly, making it more difficult for us to do as much as we want to for those we are working with and for.

So ... staff members and other supporters are getting together to walk the Kiltwalk. We want to do our bit to support the work of the charity by getting the hiking boots on and going for a walk. We will take part in both the Dundee and Edinburgh walks.

Please consider donating whatever you can or you can join us if you want - the more the merrier!

If you feel you would like to do that, just get in touch with thope@childreninscotland.org.uk

We will update you as we go.

Children in Scotland is a charity working to improve children and young people’s lives across the country. We want to help build a Scotland where every child can flourish. We seek to challenge inequalities, and much of our work is focused on improving outcomes for those in poverty and facing other barriers to reaching their full potential.
