Those who know me well know that this has been a lifetime dream for me, having sat on the sofa as a porky child waiting for Sunday lunch fantasising that one day I could run this wonderful race, soak up the atmosphere and make as much money as possible.

I’m running for two charities, Paul Sartori and Ty Hafan (see other page, www.justgiving.com/simoneeade1).  Paul Sartori are a cancer charity here in Pembrokeshire who offer incredible support to cancer sufferers and their families.  Unfortunately I know from personal experience how wonderful their work is when my close family friend Elwyn died in April 2007 from this awful disease.  I still feel his loss greatly, but nowhere near as much as his wife Anne and children Richard and Sally.  Paul Sartori provided respectful care during Elwyn’s final days, but have also supported Anne since he passed away.

For Elwyn, I want to raise as much money as possible so that other cancer sufferers in Pembrokeshire are offered the same care.

The training is hard and is not without aches and pains, but the goal for me is incredible – I can’t wait!!!!  I won’t be wearing a fancy dress costume but if you tune in on Sunday 13^th April 2008 you might spot a red faced welsh girl waddling home, and regardless of the discomfort I will have pride in my heart for finally achieving this goal.
