Firstly I would like to take the opportunity to say thank you to everyone who donated last year to my page.....we raised a massive £2300 and I would love to do the same again this year......YES I am calling for your support again.....I vowed at 20 miles last year that I would never do a marathon again as it killed...However I have decided to run again and this time for a local charity very close to home.

I first found out about the Mullberry Bush from my fiancee who works there as a Therapeutic Care Worker. I have heard first-hand reports of the incredible work that is carried out at the school, or as OFSTED say, Outstanding.

The Mullberry Bush is a residential school which helps children aged between 5-13.  By improving the life chances and social inclusion of traumatised children and young people, they create a long-term benefit to society by reducing their anti-social behaviour and its impact on families, schools and communities. Their work is a cost effective early intervention to interrupt the otherwise destructive inter-generational cycles of deprivation and abuse.

Being a Dad with a son of 10 years old I take it for granted that he has the best start in life, that he is well balanced and can integrate well into school............you take it all for granted until you hear about the children that the Mullberry Bush School look after....children who have been abused, neglected, left alone, have been witness to abuse, left to fend for themselves and the list goes on.

The Mullberry Bush School help children who currently aren't able to attend mainstream schools through no fault of their own.....the staff and school do a sterling job and I want to help try and make a difference.

I don’t want to ramble on too much as I could really get on my soap box…….but I know your money will directly make some vulnerable children’s lives a substantially better one, plus it’s a local charity.
