We support people with disabilities to lead more independent lives

Story

Shin Splints started in 2010 and has been offering a friendly group that runners can join for FREE ever since. In the ten years that have passed, countless thousands of runners have set off from Coate Water, the Sun Inn, the Richard Jefferies Museum and, now, Broome Manor Golf Club. Those runners include people who have never run before, people who have been running for years, people with health problems, people who just wanted some running company, people with children, people who like cake, people with dogs, people who win half-marathons, people who only want to walk, and people who just want to run....

Over the ten years we have been running free we have raised money for many charities and good causes. This year, to celebrate the ten years, we have chosen to support Dogs for Good. Since 1988, Dogs for Good has been making life-changing differences for people with disabilities. The charity supports people with complex needs including physical disabilities, autism, dementia and learning disabilities enabling them to lead more independent lives through the help of trained dogs. They receive over 5,000 enquiries a year and it costs more than £22,000 to train and support each assistance dog. With your sponsorship, they can create more life-changing partnerships. Thank you.
